Researching my role

The work of a cameraman and a director are worlds apart hence I felt the need to research on my new role. The primary duties of a cameraman are to operate a camera and record video, however, the position includes more than just pointing and shooting. You'll work with the director and the rest of the production crew while also arranging camera shots, assisting with lighting and sound setup, and editing the video.

In order to prepare, I took multiple shots, all from different angles just trying to get comfortable in the usage of the camera.

How can one be a good cameraman?

In order to become a skilled cinematographer, you should practise your video recording techniques and solicit criticism from directors, other cameramen, and colleagues in the film and television industry. In order to push yourself to acquire new techniques and filming styles, be open to criticism and look for novel approaches. Learn how your camera and other set equipment, such as the lighting and audio systems, operate. To ensure that everyone's efforts result in a well-done, visually appealing final product when working with a team, you must listen carefully and give clear instructions.
