History of flim

 

History of film:

following the invention of photography in 1820s attempts began to capture motion on film. the first to present projected moving pictures to a paying audience were the Lumiere Brothers in 1895 France. They invented a device known as the Cinematographe which was a 3 in one device including a camera, projector and a film printer.


Old Films: 

At first, films wee very short, sometimes only a few minutes or less. They were shown at fairgrounds, music halls or anywhere a screen could be set up and room darkened. Subjects included local scenes and activities views of foreign lands , short comedies and newsworthy events 


Color in films:
by 1906, the principles of color separation were used to produce so called natural color moving images with British kinema color process first presented to be public in 1909.

Sound:
the first attempts to add synchronized sound to projected pictures used phonographic cylinders or discs. The first feature length movie incorporating synchronized dialogue, the Jazz SINGER 1927 used the Warner Brothers Vitaphone system, which employed a separate record disc with each reel of film for the sound.
